Where technology and business finally talk to each other.

The Hallucination Society is Australia's not-for-profit community built around one idea: structured, honest conversations between the people building emerging technology and the industries it's changing. No panels. Just real dialogue and real outcomes.

Casual meeting of tech and business professionals

One technology. One industry. Every time.

Each event starts with a question: what happens when [this technology] and [this industry] finally have a real conversation? Not a sales pitch. Not a keynote. A structured debate and discussion where both sides come prepared, both sides push back, and both sides leave with something they didn't have before - clarity.

We work through pairings systematically. Some are obvious. Some are surprising. All of them matter.

We exist for two reasons.

Events and Discussions

For Business

Technology is moving fast. Most businesses don't know what's real, what applies to them, or where to start. We bring the right technology experts into the room with the right industry professionals - and run honest, structured conversations that cut through the noise.

The Project Studio

For Students

Hundreds of thousands of international students arrive in Australia every year with real qualifications and real ambition. Most end up working non-tech jobs because they can't get local experience. We connect them with real Australian business projects - so they can earn a living, build a portfolio, and change what happens when they graduate.

The Project Studio

Real problems. Real solutions. Real experience.

The Project Studio is where businesses bring challenges and student teams build the solutions - guided by experienced mentors, managed end-to-end by THS. Both missions run through one engine.

The Great Debate: AI vs. Accounting

Format: Open, no-holds-barred discussion.

We're tearing down the buzzwords. Both sides will ask hard questions, break down implementation step-by-step, and expose the real challenges in modernizing the financial sector.

We're fixing something that's broken.

Every year, hundreds of thousands of international students arrive in Australia. They have engineering degrees. Design skills. Technical capability. And a genuine belief that they can build a life here doing the work they're passionate about.

Instead, most end up in supermarkets and restaurants - not because they lack talent, but because the system gives them nowhere else to go. And as those jobs get harder to find, some businesses exploit that desperation. Cash in hand. Below award rates. No safe recourse.

Then they graduate. And discover that without Australian work experience, landing a tech job is nearly impossible.

The talent was always there. The opportunity wasn't.

The Project Studio exists to change that - one project at a time.

Community Interaction

The talent was always there. The opportunity wasn't.
